THE HEART OF SUULA: A JOURNEY OF CONNECTION

There comes a point in life where you stop to ask yourself: What truly makes me come alive? What makes my heart beat faster?

My name is Carolien Feitz, and if there is a thread that has quietly guided my life, it is this: the love of connecting people. I have always found a deep, instinctive joy in gathering others—seeing the spark of a new conversation, the warmth of a shared laugh, and the invisible bonds that form when people truly see one another.

From the corporate world to the Heart’s path

This passion for connection was the invisible thread throughout my 28-year career in the corporate world. Beginning in consultancy and then spending 25 wonderful years at L’Oréal across many different functions, I loved the energy of the professional world.

But as I looked back, I realised that the moments where I felt most fulfilled were never about the tasks themselves, they were about the people.
It was in the gatherings I organised and the environments I curated that I found my true purpose.

While I deeply valued my time at L’Oréal, I knew there was another path that suited my soul more closely. I wanted to take the meticulous planning and pursuit of excellence I learned there and bring it into something more personal: the feeling of an atmosphere, the beauty of a curated environment, and the gentle touch of a host who truly cares.

About Suula

Suula is the realisation of that dream—a sanctuary for connection, created wherever people come together.

The name Suula is inspired by the Nordic spirit of the thaw : the gentle, powerful moment when the ice yields to warmth. It is a name born from the feeling of sula (thawing) and the sanctuary of suoja (shelter).

And then… I added an extra ‘u’.

To me, that second ‘u’ carries something essential. An extra layer of softness. More space to breathe. A gentle stretch, like exhaling just a little bit longer.

And it also holds something very simple, very human: you.

Because Suula is not just a place. It only becomes what it is through you—your presence, your unfolding, your way of arriving exactly as you are.

I want Suula to be a place where the soul can land, soften, and simply be.

With a sensitivity to what a group needs, often before it is spoken, you are met in a way that allows everyone to feel at ease, and truly seen.
Drawing on my work as a certified facilitator, I gently guide the moments that matter, holding space with care so conversations can unfold naturally and with meaning.

Whether it’s a hand-picked farmhouse for a family gathering or a quiet coastal setting for a leadership retreat, each experience is curated to feel like a warm embrace. Every detail is considered, allowing you to soften into the moment and connect more deeply.
